Ihn Company Inc. is certified to install all types of Milwaukee radon mitigation systems to reduce the level of Radon in your home or building.
What is Radon? Radon is a naturally occurring, odorless, colorless radioactive element that is a gas at room temperature and pressure. Radon is produced by the decay of Uranium deposits that occur naturally in rocks and soil. Radon is considered to present a health risk when the concentrations exceed 4.0 picocuries per liter in air. It is the second highest cause of lung cancer in the United States. Radon mitigation is any activity taken, and any materials or equipment installed, to reduce the levels of radon gas in a building.
All our work is performed as per EPA standards!
To simplify it, radon mitigation is just a exhaust system where we draw air (and the gasses that exist within the air) from the ground under your basement slab/drain tile system/sump crock and discharge it in a safe area away from the home. We can install a suction point in the sump crock or at any point within the drain tile system. If you home does not have a drain tile system we install a pit privy and create our suction point from there. The suction piping runs up the basement wall, exits to exterior grade, and connects to the radon fan. From there the discharge piping connects to the radon fan, runs up the side of the home, and terminates 2’ above the roof line.
The radon fan will require electric service which we offer to our customers with all our systems. After the system is installed, we provide re-testing for radon levels to ensure that the system is working, and your home is in no danger of Radon gases.
